In 2021, during the pandemic, we met Mrs. Yesenia Saenz, who contacted us through social media requesting a donation for the Yesenia Saenz Olla Común, (also known as “Soup Kitchen”) in the rural community of Huaycán, located 58 minutes from the city of Lima, Capital of Peru. After a few months, the founder of the Olla Común, Mrs. Yesenia Saenz, passed away due to health complications from Covid. However, the commitment of the nonprofit 3LoveInc continued and a relationship was established with the new person in charge, named Leslie Aliaga Saenz, of continuing this work in the Soup Kitchen. Leslie (daughter of the founder Yesenia Saenz), at only 18 years of age, showed perseverance, responsibility, and enterprise to continue her mother’s legacy. Over the next few years, we have seen Leslie’s growth and entrepreneurship, which did not surprise us with her ability to face difficulties and move forward on her life journey. Leslie now has a little daughter; her name is Micaela. She is a single mother, and with her efforts, she has established the name of her community and the “Olla Común Yesenia Saenz” in small competitions where they have won and contributed to obtain more donations for the consumption and support of the “Olla Común Yesenia Saenz.” Over the last 3 years, Leslie has shown a passion and learning capacity that has been highlighted even with the daily responsibilities of caring for her younger brother and her daughter, Micaela.
